Our Story

The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a professional student organization. PRSSA is based off of its parent organization, the PRSA, which is the world’s largest organization for public relations professionals.  

 

PRSSA is deigned to give students a hands on and real life experience on what it means to be working in the public relations industry.  Montclair State’s PRSSA works with real clients for their specific public relations needs. PRSSA students have developed partnerships and projects for:

 

•Metropolitan Opera Guild

•Opera New Jersey

•Autism NJ

•Hackensack University Medical Center

•Alliance for Art and Health New Jersey

•Lorena Ochoa

•Andy Kaufman Award

 

 

The Montclair State University PRSSA chapter become official in 2008 and has thriving ever since. Some accomplishments of Montclair State’s PRRSA include winning the 2006 United States Postal Service Executive Public Relations Challenge competition, performing public relations for 2006 and 2007 Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year, Lorena Ochoa, the fifth and ninth annual Andy Kaufman Awards, Hackensack University Medical Cancer Center, and Autism NJ.  

 

MSU PRSSA students enjoy many benefits including access to internship and job listings, PR competitions, scholarships, and chapter and national leadership opportunities.
